STEP 1 - CONNECTOR & TOOL
First, make sure you have all you need: (1) the assembled connector as shipped from us; and (2) the assemly tool (RC-Z2099). For small quantities, you can also use the mating connector as an assembly tool.

STEP 2 - DISASSEMBLED INTO PARTS
Disassemble the connector into its component parts. The insert you have may be different from the one shown in this picture.
| |
STEP 3 - STRIPPING OFF JACKET
Strip off the jacket at a length of 64 mm (2.5 inches).
| |
STEP 4 - PREPARING THE CABLE
Slide the cable gland and endbell over the cable. Bend the exposed wires by about 90 degrees and slide the connector housing over it, as shown here:
| |
STEP 5 - PREPARING AND CRIMPING THE WIRES
Cut the wires flush to make them even. Then, strip the wire ends according to the contacts you use. Next, crimp the pins or sockets to the stripped wire ends.

The following picture shows part of the connector housing with the crimped pins:

STEP 6 - CLICKING IN THE CONTACTS
Click the contacts into the connector insert.

The following picture shows what everything should look like now with the contacts clicked into place:
| |
STEP 7 - CLIPPING ON THE PLASTIC COVER
Fold the collapsible plastic cover over the connector insert.
| |
STEP 8 - ADDING THE COUPLING NUT
Push the coupling nut element into the connector insert, watching the desired coding channel, and hold it in place with the assembly tool (as shown in the picture). Before tightening the coupling nut to the housing, turn it first to the desired position (north, south, east, or west).
| |
STEP 9 - TIGHTENING THE COUPLING NUT
Holding the angled connector part together with the coupling nut and assembly tool in one hand, tighten the coupling nut element to the housing using a wrench, as shown.
| |
STEP 10 -- CONNECTING THE REMAINING PARTS
So far your assembly should look like the one on the picture below (with the assembly tool). Now connect the endbell and cable gland by screwing the endbell to the backside of the housing and the cable gland to the endbell.

After you are done, your assembly should look like the following picture:

| |
STEP 11 - FINAL TIGHTENING
Using a wrench, tighten all the parts, as shown in the three pictures below. Tighten them all the way until they stop, but do not overtighten.
